Dillard’s is the extension of a department store founded by William T. Dillard in 1938. Its headquarters exist in the eastern part of Little Rock’s Riverdale area.

In 1956, Mayer & Schmidt store in Texas was acquired by an investment group led by Dillard. This store eventually took on the name “Dillard’s Mayer & Schmidt”. After two other successful acquirements of Brown-Dunkin store and Joseph Pfeifer store in Oklahoma and Arkansas, Dillard along with his investors grouped all these stores under a common name Dillard Department Stores.

Job responsibilities:

  • Safely handle all boxes to ensure productive and precise processing of goods to the stores
  • Load and unload cartons from trucks
  • Carefully shift goods through the warehouse and arrange them in storage locations
  • Check and maintain boxes count accuracy within the warehouse
  • Perform additional duties as assigned

Warehouse Packing:

Job responsibilities:

  • Verify and pack merchandise in quantities more readily sold by the stores
  • Scan the verification labels and place the appropriate quantity in the container
  • Move the container onto conveyor line for delivery to the outbound stores

Requirements for both the jobs:

  • Good communication skill both oral and written
  • Should be able to operate equipment’s safely, read labels, and other product documents
  • Must know to use a personal computer
  • Should be able to lift and carry merchandise on frequent basis
  • Willing to work in various temperature controlled environments
  • Should work independently and in a team environment

Most of the associates working in Dillard’s are paid in-between $8 – $15 per hour.  And the managers are paid in the range of 40,000 per month. All the employees in Dillard’s have monthly reviews, and their wages goes up or down depending upon it. Usually they get either a raise of 10% or a reduction of 10% but almost everybody has a down month once in a while.
