FedEx was officially incorporated on 2nd October of 1997, although its history dates back to 1973. In its early years, it was known as ‘Fedex Express’, which was used as the company name till the new millennium. After 2000, the company was renamed ‘FedEx’. Jobs:

At FedEx distribution centers, you have several choices as far as jobs are concerned, including but not limited to Material Handler, Dockworker. Distribution center jobs require you to lift materials or goods weighing up to a 100 lbs. You will be given the appropriate equipments required for the job such as forklift, pallet jack and hand truck, pallets, ropes, straps, etc. You will be required to ensure proper palletization, loading and storage of shipments, both inbound as well as outbound. For jobs such as that of Material Handler, you will be required to use a PC or RF-based systems to perform tasks. For weights over 50 lbs, assistance will be provided for lifting duties. For jobs such as Dockworker, prior warehouse experience is preferred though not necessary. You must be at least 18 years old in order to work at FedEx distribution centers. The working hours might vary according to operational needs. For working as a material handler, you will require a High School diploma or equivalent with at least 2 years of experience in the related field. Material Handling also requires you to have a forklift certification.
