HEB, acronym for Here Everything’s Better, is an American supermarket chain headquartered in San Antonio, Texas. On this page, we will be taking a look at warehouse jobs at HEB.
History –
HEB was founded in 1905 by Florence Butt. The CC Butt Grocery Store was opened on the ground floor of her Kerrville home in Texas. The youngest son of Florence Butt, Howard Edward Butt, took over the store after returning from World War I in the year 1919. Howard tried to expand the business in Central Texas but his attempt was in vain. However, he successfully launched the second store in Del Rio, Texas. The company has expanded and grown to be the biggest supermarket chain in Southern United States. Today, it employs more than 76,000 people.
Jobs:
At a HEB warehouse, you can get employment as a distribution partner, where you will be required to carry out tasks such as order selection, forklift operation, and stocking. As a forklift operator, you will complete all the tasks with a forklift in a clean and organized fashion. You will also select orders for shipment and mark/tag orders with shipment information. Or, you might be carrying out the stocking tasks wherein you will open master cases, verify a product against assigned location and fill selection lanes for pick-to-light selection.
Other than that, you can also work as a trainer. You will be training people to perform tasks such as order selection and forklift operation as a trainer. For all these jobs, you need to have a high school diploma or equivalent, and strong verbal and written communication skills. Bi-lingual language skills are a plus if you are bi-lingual. You will be required to lift up to 60 lbs for the duration of your shift. You will be working in either an extremely cold environment or a very hot environment.
