History:

The inception of Pepsi can be traced back to 1902 when it was known as the Pepsi-Cola Company. It was incorporated in the year 1919 in Delaware. The recipe for Pepsi was developed by Caleb Bradham in the 1880s. Pepsi-Cola merged with the company Frito-Lay in 1965 and has been known as PepsiCo since then. PepsiCo acquired a lot of other business in the 1970s through to the mid-90s. Many of these companies were later divested. Today, PepsiCo employs more than 297,000 people worldwide.

Jobs:

At Pepsi, you can work as a warehouse loader or a forklift operator as far as entry-level jobs are concerned. You can also apply for the position of Warehouse supervisor if that is what you are going for. As a forklift operator, your job is to operate the forklift in a safe manner. You will be required to receive and store items according to the established system. You will handle reloading of route trucks. You will also sort and store partial cases of products returned on route trucks. You will maintain a record of daily check list. As a forklift operator, you will be lifting weights from 20-45 pounds through a 12 hour period.

As a loader, your job is to work from order sheets to build loads for transport, bulk or route trucks using either a forklift or an electronic pallet jack. Basically, you will be loading designated packages and flavors of product from the warehouse and loading them into the bays of a route truck that the salesperson has selected for that particular product/package. You will be moving full pallets of products from the warehouse onto the trailers and removing any returned pallets.

Note that in order to apply for any of the above jobs, you need to pass a drug test and a background check. For the position of the forklift operator, you must be able to pass Forklift Driving Skills test or you must currently possess Forklift Driving Certificate.

For the interview, remember that this is going to be simple and the only questions you will be asked might be about your salary expectations or why you decided to work with PepsiCo. You will not be given any case studies and you won’t be asked questions pertaining to leadership abilities unless you choose to apply for supervising positions.

Working at a PepsiCo warehouse, you will earn an average hourly salary of $16.10/hr, with $12/hr being the lowest reported salary and $22/hr being the highest reported salary.
